Lindale Police Brief – Week ending 9/4/2026

DWI Accident - Officers responded to a report of an MVA with a rollover. Upon arrival, officers determined the suspect vehicle left the scene. After an investigation, the individual was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated. 

Assist EMS - Officers responded to a report of an individual losing blood. Officers located the individual under the carport the individual fell into a glass window. Officers administered a tourniquet and medical aid until Fire and EMS arrived on scene.

Assist EMS - Officers responded after a store employee collapsed.  

Assist Other Agency - Officers were called to the scene by security for a couple who left after the establishment after being refused service and became irate. 

Verbal Disturbance - Officers were called for a verbal disturbance. One individual wanted to file a report for Family Violence. Officers explained that a verbal disturbance does not meet the element of the offence. No physical altercation occurred; however, officers advised the parties to separate for the evening. 

Theft - Officers responded after employees observed the suspect select and conceal alcohol along with several other items. 

Information - A vehicle went off the roadway after its wheel locked up. As the vehicle left the roadway, the wheel became detached and sparked a grass fire along the frontage road and adjacent pasture where the vehicle came to rest.

DWI - Dispatch received a call from a motorist following a vehicle that was swerving and failing to maintain lanes. Officers caught up with the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver exhibited symptoms of alcohol intoxication and was placed under arrest for DWI.

Scam - RP was contacted via phone by someone claiming to be the Smith County Jail. RP was given instructions to pull out cash then transfer the money electronically. RP called the actual jail to get an updated release status and was told no bail had been posted, at that point RP realized it was a scam.

Theft - RP came to the PD to report an employee had been using fraudulent and cancelled transactions to pocket cash.
