Trucks collied on Loop 49

Tyler—Officers with the Tyler Police Department responded to Loop 49 at Neighbors Rd on a traffic crash between 2 eighteen wheelers on March 18 at approximately 10:45 a.m. 

A westbound truck had careened into the eastbound lanes. The trucks collided head on in the eastbound lanes of Loop 49. The driver of the truck that had careened was deceased on scene. The driver of the other truck suffered minor injuries and was checked by EMS.

Loop 49 between Old Jacksonville Hwy and Hwy 69 was closed for several hours. 

Tyler Fire, DPS, Flint/Gresham Fire and Smith County ESD also responded.
