Residents prepare for primary election
Lindale—In-person early voting in began Feb. 17, and continues through Feb. 27, ahead of the March 3 primary election.
Early voting takes place at the Lindale Kinzie Community Center, 912 Mt. Sylvan St.
Voting hours are:
- Feb. 17-20, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Feb. 21, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Feb. 22, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Feb. 23-27, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
The last day to submit an application for a ballot by mail is Feb. 20. Completed mail ballots must be received by March 4.
Election Day is Tuesday, March 3, with polling locations open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A full list of Smith County voting locations is available on the county’s official website.
Voters will cast ballots in party primaries for federal, state and local offices. Federal races include the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives for Texas’ 1st Congressional District.
State offices on the ballot include governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, agriculture commissioner, comptroller, land commissioner, railroad commissioner, state Board of Education District 9, state senator for District 1 and state representative for District 5.
County and judicial positions include Smith County judge, county clerk, district clerk, county treasurer, county party chairs, multiple district court and court-at-law judgeships, justices of the peace and several statewide appellate court seats.
