Tyler—The Tyler City Council approved the acceptance of a $100,000 donation from Peltier Chevrolet, Inc. to the Friends of the Faulkner Tennis Center on Jan. 14, supporting future expansion and construction projects at the Faulkner Tennis Center.

The donation will help fund new tennis courts outlined in the Faulkner Tennis Center Master Plan, including the addition of four covered courts. These improvements are designed to increase access, expand programming opportunities and support the continued growth of tennis in Tyler.

City leaders emphasized that partnerships with local businesses and community organizations play a critical role in advancing recreational amenities and long-term planning goals.

"This public-private collaboration between the City and the community made something happen that otherwise would not have been possible without shared investment and support," Mayor Don Warren said.

Fundraising efforts for the Faulkner Tennis Center expansion continue, with additional private and community support being sought to fully realize the master plan's vision.

This donation brings the total raised by the Friends of the Faulkner Tennis Center to $189,000.
