Lindale Police Brief – Week ending 12/26/2025

INQUEST-RP called 911 stating that an individual’s eyes are open, but they not breathing. First Responders arrived and determined the individual was deceased.

DISTURBANCE-Upon arrival, one individual left the scene. The other party remained and stated that the one who left could not control their alcohol and that is what the disturbance was about - nothing physical occurred, just verbal.

BURG OF VEH-Victim flagged an officer down in parking lot to advise that the window to their vehicle had been broken and purse was taken.

HINDERING A SECURED CREDITOR-RP called to advise that they are REPO’ing a vehicle and an individual came running out of the store and jumped in the driver’s seat and is attempting to drive the vehicle off the lift. Repo order was verified and the individual was advised to get out of the vehicle by law enforcement.

911 ABUSE-Lindale PD and Smith County received several 911 calls from a person talking about military action, being a service member, and about needing to get back to the nuclear submarine. After a brief search, officers located the individual.

WELFARE CHECK-RP stating their child is walking along IH 20, possibly headed to harm RP - advised that they are suffering from a Mental Episode. Officers failed to locate. Call was later re-opened because subj approached officers who were working road construction. They confirmed the individual who advised that they were suicidal and needed help.

SUSP CIRCUMSTANCE-RP called claiming someone was inside their home and they do not know who they are. Unk Person is currently hiding under the couch. Officers arrived and cleared the home. RP advised that they see figures and feel people touching them and does not know if someone is there or not.

WELFARE CHECK-RP is a passerby that saw an individual asking about congress and yelling at people to leave them alone. Officers contacted the individual who advised they are staying with family for a bit. The parent advised the individual has possible drug use issues from the past that have affected their mind. 

AGG ASSAULT W/DEADLY WEAPON AGAINST PEACE OFFICER/ EVADING ARREST W-VEH/POSS OF CS, POSS MARI, WARRANTS, FAILED TO ID-During a traffic stop, an officer spotted a firearm in the vehicle. Upon walking up and asking the driver to step out of the vehicle and driver fled. The officer pursued and the driver began shooting at officer. Numerous locations within the county, the driver opened fire. The individual was taken into custody.
