Weekly Brief Week Ending 11/01/2024
POW, CHRISTUS ER-Officers were sent to this location regarding a patient being there to be seen. The patient took off running across 69 to avoid being checked in but then returned and was seen. Drs called to request POW due to him being confused and possibly a danger to himself. Officers arrived and staff already had him sedated and made transportation arrangements for him.
INQUEST-RP called to advise that she believes her father has passed away. Officers arrived to find the individual deceased.
INQUEST-RP is a home health nurse who came for the intake of a patient, but the individual would not come to the door. RP entered the home to find the individual deceased in her bed.
ASSIST SCSO-SCSO called requesting assistance for a runaway being at location and there is now a large disturbance taking place. Officers arrived on scene and preserved the peace until SCSO arrived.
WELFARE CONCERN, WALMART-RP called advising that his wife, and his daughter left the residence around 2100 hrs enroute to Walmart and had not been seen or heard from since. Officers checked Walmart parking lot for their vehicle. Vehicle was located with hood up and wife working on the battery. Officers troubleshot the issue to possibly be the alternator. The officer gave courtesy transport to both individuals back to their address.
ASSIST EMS, WASHDAY LAUNDRY-Report of an elderly female falling and hitting her head, causing a pretty good laceration. Individual was transported to Christus ER. Her vehicle was left at the scene.
SUSP PERSON-RP advised that he and his wife are out of town, and they received an alert from their ring camera showing an individual, unknown clothing desc due to lighting, snooping around his truck in the driveway. A few mins later, RP called back advising that another camera feed came through showing the individual jumping the fence into the neighbor’s back yard.
FEDEX – FOUND PROPERTY-R/P stated he came out to his truck and found a package in the bed of his truck. Inside were packages that contained marijuana. He called the police and turned over the items.
THEFT-WM-Individual was caught stealing less than $50 worth of merch. Cited and CT’d.
DISTURBANCE-RP called stating her husband was causing problems and wanted police to get him to leave. No FV occurred just two people arguing. Advised that she shouldn’t have let him come back. As he is a resident, she would need to evict him.
CIVIL MATTER-Received three calls total over two days from a mother, who lives in Florida, child is in Texas and is currently in the custody of the father. Mother wants the child back but does not have a court order showing custody. She has been advised multiple times to get a court order. Ex husband has obtained a court order that states until further, the child is not to leave the state. Signed by Judge in Smith County. Advised the mother legally she couldn’t do anything without custody agreement.
