Patsy Ann Thornton, lovingly known as Pat, went home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2025, at the age of 92. She was a lifelong Texan, born in Golden, Texas to K.T. Mize Sr. and Reta Russell Mize, and later made her home in Lindale, Texas.
Pat was a woman whose greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was a large family gathering or a simple everyday visit. Her love and care left an everlasting mark on the generations who follow her.
Pat retired after many years working and managing dry cleaning plants in both Tyler and Lindale. One of her passions was Nascar racing, watching the races weekly. She was excited when she was able to attend three races at Texas Motor Speedway with her daughter. In addition, she was loyal Dallas Cowboy fan.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Rigsby and husband Ken of Lindale, Texas; her grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy, Kelli Rae of Leander, Texas, Kenny Rigsby and wife Julie of Tyler, Texas. She also leaves behind great grandchildren, Evie Rigsby, Brave Rigsby. Along with nephews Tony Mize and wife Lisa of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Corey Mize and wife Beverly of Longview, Texas, Keenan Mize and wife Traci of Gilmer, Texas, Niece Jennifer Johnson and husband Dave of Hallsville, Texas along with a large extended family of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces (twins) expected soon.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, K.T. Mize Sr., Reta Mize, and brother K.T. Mize Jr. Though she will be deeply missed by family and friends here on earth, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with family in heaven.
A Memorial/Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday September 20, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at the Bethesda Church Chapel in Lindale, Texas.
In Lieu of flowers Pat ask that donations be made to causes close to her heart. "For the Silent", an organization founded by her grandson Kenny and wife Julie to fight against Child Sex Trafficking. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital because of her deep love and compassion for hurting children, and Kindful Health Hospice of Tyler for the love and care they show for those at end of life.
Pat’s life was a gift to her family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, her love and the way she made each person feel special. Her legacy of love lives on in all who was blessed to know her.
