Philip Jon Paradowski

August 19, 2025

Philip Jon Paradowski, 62, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Philip passed away peacefully at the 3 o’clock hour at St. Joseph hospital, surrounded by his entire family who were praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and singing Philip’s favorite song, Silent Night. All hands were laid on Philip as he went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Philip was born in Paris, Texas on August 30, 1962 to Barbara and Bo Paradowski. Philip was the middle child of five children. Philip was an abundant blessing and light to his family and to all whom he encountered throughout his life. Philip, and God’s children like him, are very special people with places of honor in God’s kingdom.
Philip’s early years were spent in Dallas with his family. In his early teens Philip lived in a cottage at Brenham State School where he thrived, and in the early 1990s, moved to the Champagne community home in Lindale, Texas where he lived for more than 30 years. The last 18 months of Philip’s life were spent at Legacy Nursing & Rehabilitation in Bryan, Texas. Everywhere Philip lived, he brought joy and was a favorite of all who cared for him.
Philip loved to entertain by singing and playing the guitar. He was known for his joy, humor, and strong spirit and had an unmatched passion for Texas A&M and all things Aggies. At the same time, Philip had a deep and profound love of the Church and his Catholic faith. He loved to attend Mass and served as an usher at his parish in Lindale while wearing his Sunday best. Philip loved to dress up and wear a suit. Some of Philip’s other interests included the Dallas Cowboys, the American flag, dancing, opening presents, dominos and playing cards.
Philip brought joy to all caregivers, family and friends. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people smile and feel loved. Special thanks are given to his friends and caregivers and communities including Brenham State School, Champagne Home, Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation and all others who loved and cared for him like family.
Philip is preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward “Bo” Paradowski. Philip is survived by his mother, Barbara “Bobbi” Paradowski, his sister, Pam Schultz and her husband, Phil Schultz; his brother, Chuck Paradowski and his wife, Diane; his brother Jeff Paradowski and his wife, Becky; and his brother Beau Paradowski and his wife Breah, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Philip especially loved all family gatherings, holidays and celebrations and never missed one.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 507 E. 26th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803. Immediately following the conclusion of Mass, there will be a reception and meal at the Parish Activity Center. A visitation and rosary will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 starting at 6 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 E. 29th Street, Bryan, Texas 77802. Philip will be buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bryan, Texas following the reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley, 4001 E. 29th Street #190, Bryan, Texas 77802.
Philip lived a life full of joy, faith and love. Though his words were few, his heart spoke volumes. He will be dearly missed on earth, but we take comfort knowing he is rejoicing with the Lord and reunited with his dad and his Mimaw and Pawpaw in Heaven.
