Lindale News wins Texas newspaper contest

Lindale—The Texas Press Association (TPA) hosted its TPA Convention and Trade Show in Denton, June 19–21. One of the final activities of the convention was the announcement of the winners of the 2024 Texas Better Newspaper Contest.

Early in the year, Rambler Texas Media (RTM) entered its work in select categories, which divide newspapers based on size. 

The Lindale News won 1st place in Headline Writing, Division 9. The TPA’s photo contests required three headlines to enter the competition.

The newspaper’s first RTM headline, THE NEWSPAPER LIVES! published on Sept. 19, 2024, was part of the submission 

Hogs roasted during festival, Oct 31, and Town square fills with Christmas Spirit, Dec. 12, were also submitted.

The TPA’s photo contests required five photos to enter. The Lindale News won 4th place in News Photography, Division 9.

The Lindale New’s sister publication, the Rambler, took 4th place honors in News Photography, Division 6.
