Weekly Police Brief Week Ending 9/27/2024
ASSIST EMS, 200 BLK S MAIN-Officer stopped with 2 vehicles blocking the roadway. Turned out to be a medical emergency where an infant was having difficulties breathing. EMS on scene and transported infant to ER in Tyler.
WELFARE CONCERN, LIFESOURCE CHURCH-Report of an individual laying in the driveway of the church, alert but unresponsive. Officers arrive to find individual suffering from a medical emergency-transported to ER by ambulance.
CONTINUOUS VIOLENCE AGAINST THE FAMILY-RP advising that her partner is at the location intoxicated and has hit her multiple times in the face. Officers arrive to find individual had walked away from the location, only to be found nearby and was placed under arrest-charged with Continuous Violence against the Family.
LOITERING, 17080 IH 20 W/Country Store-Store management called stating that there was an individual on the premises with a grill, cooking food. Had been there for a while. Officers contacted the individual who stated he was not grilling food, but the grill was warm-was advised to leave by management, Officers believe he may be 10-96.
THEFT, 105 E CENTENNIAL/WALMART-Walmart AP called advising that an older individual was caught stealing dog food. Walmart wants charges filed and a CTW issued. Officer arrived and contacted individual who committed Class C theft, no prev convictions-issued a citation and a CTW.
THEFT PRESCRIPTION MEDS, 1404 S MAIN/EAGLE PHARMACY-RP called chief to advise that someone broke into the Pharmacy overnight and got into the safe and stole medications. Officers along with CID arrived and entry was made by cutting the back of the building and peeling the metal back, exposing the safes. Susp then cut into the back of the safe and stole approx. $18,000 worth of CS medications. Report forwarded to CID for investigation.
ASSIST OTHER AGENCY/KAUFMAN COUNTY-Assisted Kaufman County searching for a vehicle involved in a homicide.
PUBLIC SERVICE-RP, called advising that he thinks some kid keeps cutting the cable lines going to his house. Officer responded and the only damage done to the line is high up where no one can cut it. RP was explained this but requested extra patrol in case. CIP was placed.
WARRANT SERVICE-Traffic stop-Contact was made with individual who had a warrant from Cherokee County for Failing to appear on a Family Violence charge. The warrant was served, and vehicle impounded by Isaac’s.
DIST –Disturbance was called in by a child saying mom and dad were fighting. Male subj was gone prior to arrival. Female stated that nothing happened and refused to speak w/ officers. The officer noticed a mark on her face but she denied everything. Officer left w/ no cooperation.
ASSAULT FV-RP called saying she had been assaulted by her common law husband. Arrived and observed continued swelling from yesterday’s injury and a new contusion on her forehead. She stated he assaulted her. CPS called. Found individual at Crews N Buy a few minutes later and on-sited him for Assault FV and EPO made.
CIP on 211 W. South St Under the Magnolia Tattoo. Lumber has come up missing, the contractor is getting cameras to put up in hopes of catching the culprits. Has not reported it yet and has only requested a CIP.
