Weekly Brief – Week ending 12/20/2024 Significant Events
RP= reporting party JP = Justice of the Peace AP = Asset Protection CCA= Credit Card Abuse
Vagrant- RP states she had gone outside and found a man sleeping behind the dumpster. She had asked him to leave but he had not. Subject refused a courtesy ride and left for Walmart to get food.
Found Property – (FedEx) - RP states they have half a pound of Marijuana, they requested an officer - Marijuana was taken.
Public Service – (Murphy’s) - RP called requesting a wreck report for damage to property. RP had left the scene assuming the damage to his vehicle would only be a few hundred dollars. When RP found the cost to be substantially more, he contacted his insurance company who requested a wreck report. Officers declined to do a report due to him leaving the scene and the time that had passed. RP was given a case number and offered information for requesting open records. RP is not satisfied with the response from Officers.
Inquest – EMS requested assistance with an unresponsive individual later identified. After all medical options had been exhausted JP was contacted, and a report was made.
Violation Protective Order – RP came to the PD to notify officers he had a verbal altercation the night before at Walmart with people who he believes have a protective order against him. Officers confirmed through dispatch there is not a PO in place, no action taken.
Suicide –RP states her father committed suicide in the back yard. On scene Officers observed the subject with a self-inflicted wound. JP was contacted and a report was made.
Theft (Walmart) - AP advised an individual placed multiple goods in his cart. The individual paid for a portion of the items. When AP requested a receipt for the items, they produced a receipt that upon further observation was dated for a different day. The individual also gave AP and Officers his brother’s name, DOB, and DL number as his own identity.
Forgery – RP states an individual had attempted to cash and altered check from a company. The owner of the company confirms they did not issue said check.
Theft – (Walmart) AP advised watching CCTV footage he observed the individual from previous incident enter the store, purchase items and leave. Moments later he returned, took another E-Scooter, and exited through the garden center after showing the cashier the previous receipt claiming he had already paid for the item. An additional report has been taken.
Assist EMS – RP called stating he was having trouble breathing. RP did not want to be taken by EMS; however, the hotel wanted him to leave. RP’s wife was contacted and eventually and reluctantly took him to their home.
CT – (Walmart) - AP called stating multiple teen boys were in the store causing damage to property and would not leave after requested to do so. The boys were apprehended and issued CT warnings; Walmart did not wish to pursue any charges for damage.
Sus Circumstances – RP advised multiple boys were on the corner throwing rocks or shooting fireworks. An additional call came in stating the boys were stealing signs because she had noticed one was missing. Boys were located in the neighborhood with an adult, the noise was the sound of one of the boys pogo sticks.
Sus Circumstance – RP called stating three young boys knocked on her door offering to sing Christmas Carols. RP was concerned they were at her home to see if someone was there and possibly wanting to commit a crime. After watching the Ring video it is clear the boys were actually singing carols.
Dist - Neighbors called in about arguing going on inside neighboring apartment. Husband is believed to be intox. Contacted wife. She was ok and stated that it was only verbal. No offense at this time.
Welfare- Relative of subj staying in the room called worried about the tenant. Stated they are on new meds and concerned about him. Contact was made and stated he was fine.
Criminal Misch- Vehicle pulling a gooseneck came through and struck their mailbox and ran over their tree before leaving.
Public Serv- RP stated that she was at the store and left her wallet on the counter and left. She stated an individual was behind her and must have taken it. Video reviewed and showed her leaving the store with her wallet in hand. Wallet was found in the car.
CCA- RP stated that someone is using his debit card for a total of 6K.
CT- Manager wanted an individual who had gotten into a room the night before warned from the property. Subj was located at McD’s and was CT from property.
Suicide- Deceased male with GSW to temple found inside apt. CID notified and call worked.
